Pengaruh Media Massa dalam Membentuk Cara Berpikir Serta Implikasinya dalam Bimbingan Konseling

This study aims to find out if there is an influence of mass media in shaping students' mindset in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Perbaungan. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative type of description. This research was conducted in June 2021. The subjects in this study were students of grade VIII-1 to VIII-5 SMP Negeri 1 Perbaungan School Year 2020/ 2021. Sampling in this study using the purposive sampling technique by determining the criteria that suit the research needs and obtaining samples of as many as 42 students. The research data was collected by mass media questionnaires amounting to 20 statement items and a way of thinking questionnaire amounting to 20 items of statements that have been valid and reliable. Then the data was analyzed using normality tests, hypothesis tests, and linearity tests to find out if there was a significant influence of mass media in shaping students' way of thinking. Then, it can be obtained the results of normality test calculation using a residual value known significance value 0.277 > 0.05 then the residual value in this study is a normal distribution. And the calculation result of the hypothesis test obtained a result of 0.587 < 0.05 / 0.584 > 0.257, while the linearity test with a significance level of 5%, df = 42 is 0.587< 0.05. Based on the results of the analysis and testing of data can be interpreted that there is a significant influence on the mass media in shaping students' mindset in grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Perbaungan.
